Sony Announces Animated 'Spider-Man' Movie for 2018

Fans of the original Spider-Man cartoon and graphics can rejoice — an animated feature film will hit the screens in 2018, Sony said Thursday.

The announcement was made by Sony Pictures chairman, Tom Rothman, at CinemaCon.

The upcoming animated film will be written and produced by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who helmed The Lego Movie.

To be released on July 20, 2018, the upcoming movie has Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, and Pascal also on the producers seat.
