These were part of the congratulatory message conveyed in a press statement of the Public Relations Consultants Association of Nigeria (PRCAN), the umbrella body of consultancy firms in Nigeria. The message was signed by the PRCAN President, Mr. John Ehiguese.
The association congratulated the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari on his victory at the recently concluded presidential elections in Nigeria; and described the presidential elections as being generally free and fair, and a reflection of the true wishes and preferences of the Nigerian people.
PRCAN also appealed to General Buhari to, as soon as he assumes office, begin the process of commissioning a strategic nation-branding campaign that will ride on the immense goodwill that the country currently enjoys, and that will be planned and executed by a team of experts in the area of strategic communication.
PRCAN is a sectorial body that caters for the interests of the consultancy arm of PR practice in Nigeria. It is legally backed by a Bye Law of the Nigerian Institute of Public relations (NIPR) and charged with the mandate of regulating PR consultancy practice in Nigeria.
PRCAN currently has a membership of 50 PR consultancy firms.
