Entries for this year’s edition of the prestigious Promasidor Quill Awards; organized by Promasidor Nigeria is scheduled to close at midnight on April 30th 2015.
Journalists, who are yet to submit their entries have thus been advised to complete their application process before the deadline. The call was given by the Head of Legal and Public Relations of Promasidor Nigeria Limited, makers of Cowbell, Onga, Toptea and Loya, Mr. Andrew Enahoro in an interview in his office on Monday.
Enahoro advised prospective contestants for this year’s Promasidor Quill Awards to complete their applications which began in January 29th, 2015 as it will not extend the entry window of the awards. Enahoro acknowledged that Promasidor had already received many entries for the different categories of the awards; but expressed optimism that many more entries will still be uploaded before entry closes.
The seven categories of the awards are: Brand Advocate of the Year; CSR Report of the Year; Best Photo Story of the Year; Best Report on Nutrition; Best Report on Children; Education Reporter of the Year and Future Writer of the Year.
By providing the platform, Enahoro said Promasidor has judiciously done what it is supposed to do. His words: “It is now left for the target audience of the awards to realise that this is a credible platform with adequate rewards. If you feel that the work is good enough to merit an award then, you put it in. That is what it is all about – to encourage and reward excellence”.
Enahoro explained that Promasidor used the e-platform for the entry submission to take care of media men/journalists who are outside Lagos and South West. “We don’t want a situation where the scope will be limited to any specific geographical location. Our products are sold pan-Nigeria”, he stated.
He stated that with the e-platform, there is an instant acknowledgement of entry. The website also has help lines and email addresses where any issues are promptly attended to. “In the unlikely event that you cannot upload your entries, you can send your entries to our PR Agency, TPT International. What we want is the word format, and a scanned copy of the published work.” He said.
