Bayern Munich sign 10-year kit deal with Adidas worth €900m

Recently crowned German Bundesliga football champion Bayern Munich has extended a long-term partnership deal with sportswear company Adidas, reported to be worth €900million ($990m).

The new deal will run for 10 years, from 2020-21 to 2029-30. The existing agreement between the two parties was due to run for another five seasons, until the end of the 2019-20 season.

“With this extension of the contract until 2030 Adidas will continue its long partnership with FC Bayern München,” Adidas spokesman Oliver Brüggen said.

The deal is one of the biggest in football, worth way more than Arsenal's £30m-a-year sponsorship with Puma and Chelsea's deal with adidas, also worth around £30m-a-year.

The announcement came shortly before Bayern was beaten by Borussia Dortmund last night on penalties in the semi-finals of the DFB Pokal, the German Cup.
