NIM Inducts New Members

The Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) on Wednesday, 25 March inducted another batch of its National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) graduate members at a splendid event held at the Multipurpose Hall C of the University of Lagos.

The induction ceremony formally admitted the corps members into the professional body as graduate members of NIM.

Speaking at the occasion, the NIM’s President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Nelson Uwaga, charged the inductees to be responsibile as managers and to let their new portfolio reflect in their attitude to work, the institute and the nation.

He said the inductees are expected to show commitment in upholding the standards enshrined in the codeas professional managers, as they have become ambassadors of the institute with unique behaviour in the values of the institute. “As a professional manager you are an ambassador of the institute with unique behavior in the values we share; integrity, transparency, responsibility, accountability, equity, fairness, efficiency and effectiveness”, he said.


He stated that the institute has been in the forefront of re-orientating Nigerians on attitudinal change in order to develop highly effective citizenry as change can only evolve through people with the right mindset, education and proper orientation to redirect events that would reshape the country.

Dr. Uwaga added that both the institute and their members would contribute meaningfully to the development of the country to the ideal nation that everyone craves for.

The institute also reiterated the need for the inductees to develop entrepreneurial spirit in order to contribute their quotas to national development.
