MLS begins with 20 teams! 10 questions from world's fans

A new era is dawning upon football in North America, as MLS is set to get underway without the figure of Landon Donovan, Theiry Henry, Jermain Defoe and Gilberto present. This season is arguably the biggest ever at the league.

Here 10 questions football fans across the world are asking as the leagues off this weekend:

1. Striker David Villa has star quality with New York City F.C and will no doubt be a great face to see at the MLS this season. He is a World Cup winner, European Championship winner, a Champions League and Spanish league winner. He is also a marketable brand off the pitch. How many brands can he attract in his first season?

2. Brazilian star Kaká was a key acquisition for the expansion Orlando City club. Will the former Real Madrid and AC Milan star prove critics wrong with his move to Orlando City?

3. Robbie Keane and the Galaxy will look to raise the championship trophy again this season. Can Keane increase or match his last season goal tally?

4. After the departure of Jermain Defoe and Gilberto, Toronto F.C. signed American forward Jozy Altidore and Italian playmaker Sebastian Giovinco. Fans hope the addition of this duo can get the club to the playoffs for the first time. Can the duo prove the fans right?
