Day Serena Williams Returns To Indian Wells

Ending a 14-year personal boycott of the $5 million tournament that began when she was booed as a teenager on her way to winning the title in 2001, Serena Williams finally returned to the BNP Paribas Open on Thursday.

Rumours of Williams' return started over a year ago, after she lost in the fourth round of the 2014 Australian Open to Ana Ivanovic.

Williams eventually announced her change of heart toward the tournament in a column for Time.com last month.
