'Real Madrid, Manchester United still richest clubs in the world'

The most recently published Deloitte’s Football Money League, shows that Real Madrid remain the richest club in the world.

The Spanish giants raked in £459.5m last year, to stay ahead of Manchester United, whose revenues rose from £363.2m to £433.2m.

Real Madrid maintain the number #1 position for the 10th straight year.

It is indeed surprising that the Old Trafford side recorded such financial growth, after they losing out on the top four of the English Premier League and UEFA Champions League. The red devil leapfrogged Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

Five England clubs made the top 10 list. TV rights is said to have been one of the major factor that has enable to the clubs make huge profit.

The Deloitte report highlights the decline of Italian clubs in terms of finances. In 2001 Italy had five clubs in the top 10 and only Juventus, who have built a new stadium, remain there now in 10th position.
