#Livingwhere: Lamudi rewards winner with a photo studio

Lamudi Nigeria held a two month long photography competition to create awareness of the importance of showing our community positively. It was announced that a school in the winning community would get a photo-studio as a way of introducing photography as art. Photography which was seen as an instrument used to capture events and people for the sake of documentation has now become a form of art which unfortunately schools have not explored.

With over 790 votes for a picture taken from the community, Lekki emerged the winner of the Living Where I Live competition and Top Goodness School Lekki emerged the winner of the community prize. The school which has both primary and secondary is situated at first gate, jakande estate, Lekki Estate Phase 1, Eti Osa, Lagos.
During the prize giving ceremony, Managing Director Lamudi Nigeria Obi Ejimofo said “it has been an exciting competition. We received so many pictures of various areas in Lagos and now we can easily see what those places look through the eyes of those who live there. The art instructor, Ilasan Senior Secondary School commended Lamudi Nigeria for organizing the competition. He said ‘I am glad that we won the photo studio. This will add more to what we will be teaching out students.’


Albert Oyiana of Lordalbert pictures who is a pro photographer also won a smart phone from the individual category with a picture taken from Costain, Lagos.
