MTN Ghana on Wednesday launched the second edition of the “MTN Applications Challenge Version 2.0” to reward the most innovative and locally-relevant mobile applications developers.
This year’s event which would be climaxed on December 10, is on the theme: “Promoting innovative Local Apps Development.”
Mr Raul De, Chief Marketing Officer, MTN speaking at the launch said the event gives another opportunity to people with skills and talent to develop user friendly applications.
He said mobile application development is creating employment and generating income for an estimated 2.3 million people across the globe.
The Chief Marketing Officer said the Apps challenge forms part of a broader agenda of the MTN group to grow the App developer community in Africa and also increase local content.
“We believe that gradually we will catch up with the rest of the world in growing our economies through Mobile App,” he said.
