The Delta State government has revealed plans to provide a land for a world-class film village that would change the face of the film industry in Nigeria.
According to the Governor of Delta State, Emmanuel Uduaghan, the film village would become Nigeria's entertainment hub and pre-eminent destination for film producers and actors.
He explained that "the construction of a film village in the state is in support of the positive role Nigerian movies have continued to play on the country's image and in line with his administration's human capital development and the Delta Beyond Oil programme".
Uduaghan described Delta State as the base and home of the entertainment industry in Nigeria due to the fact that most of the Nigerian actors, actresses, comedians, musicians, and journalists come from, or have links to the area.
