If
soap-on-a-rope, socks or aftershave don’t do it for dad, why not shatter the
mould this Father’s Day and put him behind the controls of a $320 million
aircraft, or at least the next best thing?
British
Airways is offering Father’s Day specials on its full-motion flight simulators
and if you plan it right dad could be Captain Dad, adding a little excitement
to his next boring business trip to London.
The
airline is discounting simulator gift vouchers booked by June 30 by 20%. These
can be used on any available dates during the next 12 months. Hour-long flights
in a Boeing 737 simulator are R5742 and the equivalent in a Boeing 777 is
R6462.
The
session starts with a full technical briefing from an instructor pilot,
followed by an hour’s flight in which time wannabe pilot dads can take off and
land from multiple airports as well as cruise through blue skies. No previous
flying experience is necessary.
Gift
vouchers are available at www.ebaft.com or
by e-mailing baft@ba.com Bookings must be made
by June 30 2014 using the promotional code DAD14. The simulators are located at
British Airways’ flight training centre near Heathrow.
