DStv introduces extra SuperSport channel

In an attempt to cater for the growing demand of HD programming, MultiChoice-owned pay-TV service DStv has announcd its plans to intoduce an additional high definition (HD) SuperSport channel.

SuperSport HD 7 (SSHD7) will provide a high definition version of the already existing SS7 channel and will be available from April 22 to all DStv Premium subscribers. The channel will feature European football, tennis, Sevens rugby, boxing, golf, swimming, athletics and a limited amount of cricket.

“We’re living in an exciting world where cutting-edge technology rules the day,” said Brandon Foot, acting chief executive officer (CEO) of SuperSport. “There is no better way to watch sport than in high definition. This 7th SuperSport HD channel means that all Barclays Premiership and Champions League football will be available in HD, along with other popular sports such as boxing and golf.”
