Director-General, NCAA, Capt. Fola Akinkuotu
Ahead of the proposed audit to be carried out by the United States Federal Aviation Administration, FAA, on the entire Nigerian aviation industry, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, has expressed readiness for the exercise.

Captain Fola Akinkuotu, Director-General of NCAA, disclosed that the officials of the FAA are to begin the audit and inspection of the airports on Monday, March 31.

Akinkuotu, who spoke with aviation correspondents said the sector was capable of retaining the status, to allow the continuity of direct flights between Nigeria and the US.Nigeria had on September 18, 2010 attained the FAA Category One Status.

“It is imperative for Nigeria to retain the Category One Status for the benefit of all. The transformation agenda of the Federal Government has ensured that the industry witnesses a boost and NCAA has continued to ensure a robust regulation,” He said.

“NCAA is putting all hands on deck to ensure the success of the exercise. The Category Status belongs to Nigeria, but the sector that would be tested is the aviation industry while NCAA will determine the successes of the audit,”Akinkuotu added.
