Social Media Week Begins Today, February 17

Social Media Week officially begin in Lagos and a host of other cities around the world today, 17 February 2014, and runs until 21 February.

The SMW Lagos 2014 theme is A CONNECTED AFRICA IS THE FUTURE. The event will examine the economic, social, and cultural impact of social media and technology for Africa while exploring current trends and highlighting opportunities for collaboration.

Social Media Week is a leading media platform and event with global reach across five continents, including Africa, North America, South America, Europe and Asia. Twice a year (in February and September) the week long conference and festival is held in multiple cities across the globe simultaneously.
