The novelty charity match which took place at Campos Square mini stadium, Lagos Island on Friday also attracted friends and well wishers of the managing director. The match was organized in line with Richard's personal preference and his love for the less privileged.
The line up of the eminent personalities that participated in Team A (blue) category included Charles Igbinidu, Eze Martins, George Richards, Yomi Adenson, Niyi Ojemuyiwa, Tom Richards, Sunday Odunaye, Ahmed Abaza, ex- international Monday Odiaka, Chris Richardson, Ben Eke, Jonathan Akpoborie and host of others.
While Team B(orange) category included Keith Richards, Toks Modupe, Patrick Udoh, Jide Oguntuase, Alex Goma, Segun Koleoso, Taju Disu, Demola Bakare, Austine Orumen, Seun Kuti, Vitus Ezinwa, Mike Omoigui, Ovie Aghomi and Jethro Iruobe among others.
The two squads had fun tossing the ball around and trading tackles for 90 minutes at the stadium. At the end of the match, Team B defeated Team A by 2-1, through goals from Seun Kuti and Taju Disu while Ahmed Abaza scored the only goal of Team A.
Earlier, in the day Apapa/Ajegunle centre of Cowbell Football Academy beat their Surulere counterpart by a lone goal scored by Emeka Odimega in a supportive match to honour Keith at 60.
Keith was born 60 years ago in the United Kingdom (UK) on October 14th, 1953. He has at different levels held various leadership positions in Nigeria as managing director and corporate executive board member of top ranking companies such as John Holt Plc, International Equitable Association, Guinness Nigeria Plc and presently Promasidor Nigeria Limited. His involvements and hard work on diverse community projects has gained him recognition as one of the most respected Nigerian chief executives.
