As part of the outlined activities of the 24th Annual General Meeting and Week Lecture of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Lagos State chapter, the image makers yesterday at NECA House, Alausa Ikeja, elected new executive team to administer the affairs of the chapter.
The Managing Director of Jasek Communications Limited, Mr Joseph Okonmah emerged as the new Chairman after a stiff competition with the former Vice Chairman, Kunle Ogedengbe and Ken Egbas.
Mrs Comfort Nwankwo, Sheriff Akinpelu, Barr. Suas Udoh, Kalu Olakauwa, Olatunbosun Abiodun, Prudence Onyejiaka and Mbamalu Fortune emerged as Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, PRO; Auditor, Assistant Secretary and Financial Secretary respectively as there was no contests for the positions.
While speaking with newsmen, the new Chairman, Okonmah said “I want to thank everyone who participated in the election – it is the will of God and the people.”
Mr Okonmah said the institute will ensure that professionalism is further improved through training and re-training of members. He also stated that the chapter will ensure that the building of the institute is constructed during his tenure.
Immediate past-chairman, Barr. Jide Ologun also urge the new executives to do their best to uplift the institute and improve of the current development.
