Shoprite Extend Store, To Open Three More

Having unveiled its 6th store in the peaceful city of Ilorin, the capital of Kwara state, Nigeria, Shoprite has also announce its plans to open three more stores too soon. Shoprite offers groceries and household items at low prices for its customers across Africa.

The Mall is a joint venture between Persianas and the Kwara State government. While Persianas, the owners of the Palms Shopping Centre, VI, as well as Polo Parks, Enugu, secured the financing, tenants, and development expertise, the Kwara State government contributed the land as an equity contribution to the project.

The new stores will include another store at the federal capital territory, Abuja, the northen business hub, Kano and the biggest city in west Africa, Ibadan.

The Shoprite Group of Companies, Africa's largest food retailer, operates 1334 corporate and 406 franchise outlets in 17 countries across Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands. Shoprite came into Nigeria in December 2005, when it opened a store in The Palms shopping centre in Victoria Island, Lagos. Shoprite has since opened stores in Surulere and Ikeja in Lagos; and another store in Enugu and Abuja.
