Since beating stiff competition to take the role of O-Access presenter last year, Dineo’s profile has risen with speed. In 2010, this multi-talented presenter and performing artist earned her first supporting role in the South African drama series, Soul City 10, as well as cameo appearances in the comedy City Ses’la and the soon to be released Winnie Mandela movie starring Terrence Howard and Jennifer Hudson.
A singer, songwriter, producer, entertainer and MC, Banky W whose appearance this year on L-Tido’s smash hit “It Aint My Fault” has significantly broadened his appeal across the African continent.
From his first record, ‘Undeniable: The EP’ to 2005’s R & B and soul-heavy ‘Back in the Buildin’, and 2009’s ‘The W Experience’, Banky W has proved his musical genius. He also co-owns one of Africa’s fastest-rising record labels, Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E), overseeing the careers of young and talented Nigerian artists, WizKid and Skales.
Voting for the 2011 Channel O Music Video Awards closed midnight Friday 28 October 2011. Nominees in each category include D’banj ft Snoop Dogg with “Mr endowed”, as most gifted male video, Waje and Tiwa Savage as most gifted female video and Jesse Jagz ft M.I and Ice Prince as most gifted hip hop video. Most gifted African west video nominees are Naeto C, Flavor, Asa, 2face and D-black. Wizkid and Ice Prince get nominated for most gifted new comer while Darey is nominated as best dance video.
Banky W is nominated as most gifted RnB, while the most gifted duo include Samklef ft Wizkid, D’prince and Ice Prince. Best gifted afro pop video has J-martins ft Fally Ipupa and Flavor as nominees. The most gifted video of the year nominees include Khuli Chana, Samklef ft Wizkid, D’prince and Ice Prince; Zakes Bantwini, STL, D’banj ft Snoop Dogg, Aka, 2face, Liquideep, Navio and Lira.
